General Election 2024: Candidates for East Thanet and Herne Bay and Sandwich constituencies confirmed

Going to the polls

The candidates standing in this July’s General Election for the East Thanet and Herne Bay and Sandwich constituencies have now been officially confirmed.

Electoral Calculus currently predicts a Labour win for both seats with the party predicted to take 57% of the vote for the Herne Bay and Sandwich seat – Conservatives 42%- and 92% for East Thanet – Conservatives 8%.

Westbrook, Birchington, Garlinge, Thanet villages wards and Westgate form part of a Herne Bay and Sandwich County Constituency while East Thanet takes in Ramsgate, Broadstairs and most of Margate.

Polls open on Thursday 4 July  between 7am and 10pm.

You must register to vote before 11:59pm on Tuesday 18 June

You must apply for postal vote before 5pm on Wednesday 19 June

You must apply for proxy vote before 5pm on Wednesday 26 June
