Ramsgate’s Discovery Planet has teamed up with Thanet Earth to offer free activities for the whole family, this Saturday, July 6.

Thanet Earth is Britain’s leading greenhouse complex, located in Birchington, and produces around 400 million tomatoes, 30 million cucumbers and 24 million peppers each year.

The workshops will enable participants to understand why they can eat delicious salad, grown on their doorstep, all year round. Find out about the life cycle of plants, what they need to grow, and the  incredible technology Thanet uses to maximise salad production.

Those taking part can plant a seed to grow at home and bag some fresh veg, as well as learning how to pursue horticulture as a career.

The sessions take place at Discovery Planet HQ, 47 high Street, Ramsgate,  on the hour, every hour, from 10am to 3pm (which is when the last one starts). The 10am slot is a special quiet session for those that require a calmer environment. There is no need to book, just drop in, and there is no charge to attend.

Discovery Planet thanks the players of People’s Postcode Lottery and Thanet Earth for their support.
