Three members of Thanet Wanderers’ growing girls squad have attended Dartford Valley RFC to take part in the U15s Kent Trial.
Forwards Eden Plumridge and Macy Bowerbank and Back Izzy Lodge were awarded the trial following their recent rich vein of form playing for the Channel Barbarians Girls’ U15s side.
The two and a half hour session put girls from all four corners of Kent through their paces in a variety of sessions, including handling, tackling, support and rucking. All three Wanderers performed well throughout the session.
Eden, Macy and Izzy are currently waiting to hear whether they have done enough to get into the 40 girl squad which would be a huge achievement.
The girls teams at Thanet Wanderers RUFC have grown in numbers over the past six months since the appointment of a new head coach, Patrick Liddle, ably assisted by Steve Powell and Rhys Lawrence.
