Hotel Chocolat coming to Westwood Cross.

Good news for chocolate lovers

Hotel Chocolat is coming to Westwood Cross.

The upmarket chocolatier chain, which has its own Saint Lucia cocoa farm, is expected to open at the shopping centre this Summer.

The chain began in London in 2004 and was the creation of entrepreneurs, Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris.

Today, there are 126 stores, as well as cafés, restaurants, outlets, and factory stores. There are 40 stores in Japan, and a luxury eco-hotel on a working cacao farm in the Caribbean.

The chocolatier business is currently advertising for staff members, saying: “As we continue our mission to make people happy through chocolate, we’re opening brand new stores this year and we’re coming to Thanet Westwood Cross this Summer.”

The business sells  luxury gifts, alcohol and its drinking chocolate system, the Velvetiser.

Currently the nearest store is in Canterbury.

It has not yet been revealed which unit the store will take over.

Westwood Cross and Hotel Chocolat declined to comment ‘for now.’
