Margate FC has announced it has ‘parted ways’ with manager Mark Stimson following the club’s relegation from the Isthmian Premier Division.

The relegation was sealed by the team’s 5-3 loss to Billericay Town at the New Lodge stadium

The club’s Board say: “Margate Football Club can confirm that following relegation from the Isthmian Premier Division, it will be opting to part ways with manager, Mark Stimson.

“The search for a new manager will start immediately, as we aim to bounce straight back up, and we will update supporters with more information when possible.

“The club wish Mark all the best in the future.”

Stimson had been at the helm since last December, replacing Reece Prestedge. Margate finished the season 19th in the table.

  1. May I ask contributors who follow Margate, is there any timeline / traction for the redevelopment of the ground? It would be sad if “Big Bopper 69” prediction comes true.

  2. If big Bopper had bothered to Check ,there is building work going on now at Hartsdown Park, but what is a little amount of making stories up ,got to do with the truth.Maybe he bopped his head to much when young

  3. I agree big bopper 69 I played for margate from the age of 8 all the way to the reserves back in the day when there was a stands all round and we wore the clown kit I called it the bad manners one I’m now 39 and they pulled all that down when I was 18 19 so I have little faith in it. Me personally I reckon there will be a time where there will margate and ramsgate together as I’ve played for ramsgate reserves aswell and there stadium is getting better than it was. I liked margate stadium when we used to come out from underneath up the stairs onto the pitch now there is just portal cabins they can learn alit from chathams stadium and Ashfords there as been money thrown at then and also gravesend and Northfleet
