Fire crews were called to a blaze at a flat in Ramsgate this morning (September 2).

Two fire engines attended the scene of a ground floor flat in Park Road after being called at 9.17am.

Crews arrived to the ground floor flat well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and main jet to extinguish the flames, before clearing the property of smoke with a PPV fan.

No casualties have been reported, although a pet cat was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation with oxygen therapy. The cause of fire has not yet been established.

Kent Police and the British Red Cross were also in attendance. Fire crews finished at the scene at 11am.
