Police appeal following discovery of woman’s body at Walpole Bay

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a woman’s body by Walpole Bay today (September 20).

Police were called at 7.32am to a report that a body had been spotted on a lower promenade in the area of Fifth Avenue, Cliftonville, close to the bowls club.

Officers attended the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the woman and establish the circumstances of her death.

A Secamb spokesman said: “Ambulance crews attended the area of Fifth Avenue, Cliftonville, this morning after reports a body had been discovered. Sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Anyone who was in the area earlier the same day, between around 6am and 7.30am, and may have information which would assist officers, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 20-171.

  1. Do the police not know about something on the internet called ‘ live/Secure webcam ? ‘ There is a camera that stream’s real time cottage of that area.
