The Coastguard helicopter and teams from Margate and Herne Bay, Margate RNLI, police and paramedics have been in attendance to a ‘person in trouble in the sea’ report at Botany Bay today (September 27).
Crews were called out at 11,10am and carried out an extensive search.
No-one was found to be in difficulty but it is understood another report has come in and crews have relaunched.
A HM Coastguard spokesperson said: “HM Coastguard received a report at around 11:10am (27 September) of a possible person in difficulty in the water at Botany Bay, Kent.
“An HM Coastguard helicopter, Margate and Herne Bay Coastguard Rescue Teams and Margate RNLI Lifeboat were sent.
“After a thorough and extensive search no one was found to be in difficulty.”#
Kent Police, Coastguard and RNLI have been asked for further details on the relaunch.
