Two Thanet teenagers are among ten people charged following a serious assault on a German student in Canterbury in June.
Daniel Ezzedine, 17, had been on a graduation break when he was assaulted in the city centre.
Ten people have now been charged following an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
Officers were called to Rose Lane during the evening of Thursday, June 6 to reports a teenage boy had been assaulted. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital.
Daniel was in hospital for several months, initially in an induced coma in instensive care, and had to undergo a major operation. He flew back to Grmany in September but still had a long road of recovery in front of him,
Today (December 3) the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charges of grievous bodily harm with intent and violent disorder against the following ten people:
George Potter, 18, of Eaton Place, Margate.
A 15-year-old boy from Birchington.
A 17-year-old boy from Canterbury. He was also charged with possession of a controlled drug (cannabis).
A 16-year-old boy from Orpington.
A 16-year-old boy from Canterbury. He was also charged with theft of a screwdriver and stanley knife from a shop in addition to possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A 17-year-old boy from Canterbury.
A 16-year-old girl from Canterbury.
A 17-year-old boy from Canterbury. He was also charged with theft of a screwdriver and a stanley knife from a shop, and possession of a controlled drug (cannabis).
A 14-year-old boy from Canterbury.
A 17 year old boy from Orpington.
They have all been bailed to appear at Margate Magistrates Court on January 16, 2020.
A 44-year old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released without charge.
