St Augustine’s Business Centre in Westgate to go to auction

St Augustine Business Centre

The Grade II listed St Augustine’s business centre in Westgate is to be offered for sale at auction with a guide price of £2m-£2.2m.

The centre in Canterbury Road is currently let at about £210,000 per annum with plenty of unused parts.

The lot is among 130 listed for sale by Clive Emson, the land and property auctioneers, ahead of its next sale.

Jon Rimmer, auction appraiser, said: “This is a large and attractive property that we believe dates from the very end of the Victorian period.

“The business centre occupies three floors. The upper parts provide 27 licensed offices of varying sizes and eight single-person pods.

“There is parking as well as unused parts – 20 empty rooms – that could add to the rental income.

“Other income comes from virtual tenants who rent the prestigious address and local phone number.

“Clearly investors will be looking at this property which will be sold on a 999-year lease.”

Current tenants include Tomes Homes, Kentish Projects Ltd, an occupational therapist and recruitment groups.

Clive Emson Auctioneers will hold the sale on Wednesday 4th May.
