The Choral -12A
November 7-13, Carlton Cinema Westgate
As war rages on the Western Front in 1916, the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire has lost most of its men to the army. The Choral’s ambitious committee, determined to press ahead, decides to recruit local young males to swell their ranks. They must also engage a new chorus master, and despite their suspicions that he has something to hide, their best bet seems to be Dr. Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes) – driven, uncompromising, and recently returned from a career in Germany. As conscription papers start to arrive, the whole community discovers that the best response to the chaos that is laying waste to their lives is to make music together.
Goya Gumbani

Brooklyn born lyricist Goya Gumbani’s decade-long development as an artist and producer reached a breakthrough when he released his debut self-produced EP Morta & More Doves, dedicated to his sister who passed away in 2018. The release began a prolific period of EPs and mixtapes, with Goya frequently partnering with a single producer for a project. Most recently, Goya dropped Face in the Storm in 2022 and When the Past Bloomed in 2023, featuring contributions from Pink Siifu, John Glacier, Lex Amor, Lord Apex, and others.

Thanet Festival Choir Autumn Concert

Thanet Festival Choir will be performing The Creation (German: Die Schöpfung) is an oratorio written in 1797 and 1798 by Joseph Haydn.
A musical masterpiece perfectly attuned to the spirit of its age.
Helen Bailey, Robert Sotillo and Sam Wilson-King are Soloists for this performance, together with the orchestra under leader Kokila Gillett-Khan.
All seating is unreserved. There is on-street parking available on the Eastern Esplanade, Crow Hill and surrounding roads, or alternatively there is a pay-and-display car park opposite the Church.

Saturday Kids Clay Club

These classes offer an exciting opportunity for children to explore and develop their own creative ideas through the medium of clay in a professional studio space with inspiring tutors. The sessions will include hand building, sculpting and throwing on the potters wheel, as well as an exploration into decorative techniques.
These 1.5 hr pottery sessions are suitable for 6-11 year olds. These sessions are limited to small groups so that everyone gets lots of attention and can work at their own pace.
Fee includes materials and firings (i.e. a ‘reasonable’ amount of clay and glazes – if your child really wants to build a life size dinosaur we may have to charge a little extra.)

The Repair Cafe in Ramsgate has been running since April 2024. It’s a place where volunteers help people do simple repairs to their belongings to keep them in use.
It runs on the second Sunday morning of the month, 11am – 1pm, and is currently at the Pie Factory Youth Centre on High Street St Lawrence, while Radford House on Effingham St is being refurbished.
