Kent Police was called 10.21am on Wednesday 3 September to the collision on the junction of Rancorn Road and Westbrook Avenue, Margate. Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to a local hospital with injuries.
The vehicle involved was believed to be a red Fiat Punto and officers carried out a number of enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage, to identify the driver.
An earlier appeal for information has now closed and officers no longer need help to identify the motorist.
Red Punto’s are RARE round here. There’s one usually parked infront of a flat on Clarendon Gardens by the anti car dividers in the middle of the street.
So this is a “Hit & Run” collision then is it? That means the driver must have been in the wrong for some reason at 10.30am in the morning!
Yet another driver that has no consideration to anyone else!
Bring in retesting for all drivers every 5-10 years.
All you see now is rush rush rush and its not always the younger ones either.
Hope the lady recovers fully.
Is it the same red Punto with excessive noise from exhaust and takeaway delivery driver that speeds about with his phone in his hand and not concentrating on his driving? That guy needs taking off the road too if not the one in question here.
If its usually parked in Clarendon Gardens, Ramsgate, yes. Though that said, it might NOT be the car involved in this incident.
I’m just saying red puntos are VERY rare these days and that’s the only one I’ve seen round here in a long while.
I really hope the lady is ok they must know who it is has they do need any help locating them
