Rare Salvador Dali statue stolen during Broadstairs burglary

A limited edition bronze and marble menorah by Salvador Dali has been stolen

Kent Police officers are investigation after a rare antique piece by surrealist artist Salvador Dali was stolen from a Broadstairs home.

The burglary is reported to have taken place between 2.30pm on Sunday 31 December 2023 and 10am on Friday 5 January 2024.

The property in Albion Street was broken into, and several items, including jewellery and a limited edition bronze and marble menorah by Salvador Dali were reported stolen. The statue is reported to be around 60cm tall.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the missing items, or has private CCTV footage taken in the area which might assist officers, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/2639/24.

Spanish artist Salvador Dalí was among the most prolific artists of the 20th century and the most famous Surrealist.

As well as being a painter he was successful in sculpture, printmaking, fashion, advertising, writing and filmmaking.

He was born in 1904 and died in 1989.
