Emergency crews are clearing the scene on the A299 Thanet way due to a lorry blocking the London-bound carriageway.
The cab of the truck appears to have ‘folded back’ according to an eye witness.
Truck drivers had been managing the traffic while waiting for the services to arrive. Police are likely to now close off the road while the incident is dealt wth.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: ” Kent Police was called to a report that a lorry was blocking one lane of the London-bound A299 near Herne Bay at 11.30am.
“Officers attended the scene to assist with the vehicle’s recovery and Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to deal with a suspected fuel spillage.
“No injuries have been reported. It is expected that the road will be closed while the incident is dealt with.”
