Appeal for witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage after elderly man assaulted and robbed in Broadstairs

Kent Police is appealing for information after an elderly man was assaulted at his home in Broadstairs.

The incident happened in Swinburne Avenue, between 1pm and 2pm yesterday (September 6).

The victim, who is in his 70s, opened his front door to two men who are reported to have forced their way into the property before assaulting the man and stealing items of jewellery from inside the house.

Both suspects are believed to have had their faces covered.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises in the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police carried out door to door enquiries yesterday to ask residents if they had CCTV that could help with the investigation. A forensics team was also on site.
