The 1st Westgate-on-Sea Scout Group needs your help to win future fund cash prize

Can you help the Westgate scout group by voting?

The 1st Westgate-on-Sea Scout Group is in with a chance of scooping a £100,000 top prize in the Persimmon Homes Building Futures Fund.

The annual fund has top awards ranging from £5,000 to £100,000 to support children in health, sport, education and the arts.

The Westgate scout group has made it through to the finals but needs the public vote to win.

Persimmon Homes South East is backing the group to be a prize winner, with winners announced at a gala dinner in October.

Gavin Wallis (Akela), from 1st Westgate-on-Sea Scout Group, said: “It is a huge achievement to have been selected as a regional finalist, but now we really need people to get behind us and get voting so that we are in the strongest possible position to earn one of the top three cash awards on the night.”

We help and support young people by teaching them skills 4 life while having fun and taking part in adventurous activities. This in turn helps them with their interpersonal and leadership skills along with the importance of teamwork.”

“We are just £3,000 short of target to replace our hut roof, and a top prize would enable us to complete this essential work as well as buy new camping equipment for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, and new equipment for our hut.”

Building Futures is being delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation, which last year donated £620,000 to support children’s sport.

Through Building Futures, a total of 128 grants of £1,000 have been awarded to groups supporting sport, education & arts and health across Persimmon’s 31 regional businesses and its head office.

Persimmon Homes is an official partner of Team GB and the Persimmon Charitable Foundation enlisted the help of medallists Kat Copeland and Callum Skinner to help determine the three regional finalists for each business division.

Online voting is now open will close at midnight on September 27.
