Dozens of horses and horse and carts have been ridden through Ramsgate as part of a charity event in aid of Joe Shaw.

The ride, billed as the Jolly Boys’ Outing, involved some 30 horses and was held to raise money to help with the rehabilitation and home adaptations for the 25-year-old.

Joe was seriously assaulted on March 17 last year in Ramsgate town centre and left with brain damage.

The severity of his injuries have left him unable to walk, speak or complete many basic tasks for himself.

He has been staying at a rehabilitation centre in Herne Bay while his family raise money for adaptions to make their property suitable for him.

A huge fundraising campaign has been launched with the target almost reached.
