
Southeastern services have stopped running between Margate and Faversham after a person was hit by a train this afternoon (March 8).
Emergency services are currently at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “Sadly, we’ve had a report of a person being hit by a train between Faversham and Margate.
⚠️ UPDATE: Trains are unable to run between #Faversham and Margate after sadly, a person has been hit by a train. Services on our High Speed via Gravesend & Victoria to Ramsgate routes are being disrupted and may be altered at short notice.

“All lines are currently blocked in the area while emergency services attend to this incident.”
They added: “While the emergency services carry out their duties to deal with this incident, we can’t provide an estimate when trains can resume. We are working on our plans to get people on the move again as quickly as possible once trains can move again.”
UPDATE: A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed the person sadly died at the scene and officers are now working on identifying them and informing family. The incident happened at Chestfield and Swalecliffe station.
