Man airlifted to hospital following Hengist Way crash

Fire, ambulance and police have been called to a crash at the Hengist Way in Ramsgate.

Reports indicate a motorcyclist has been in collision with a lorry at the underpass, off Lord of the Manor leading to the Hengist Way. A man has been flown to hospital via air ambulance.

Four ambulances as well as fire and police crews are currently at the scene. A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews have been called to deal with a fuel spill on the A299 Ramsgate following a crash. One fire engine is in attendance.”

The carriageway is currently closed.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a collision involving two vehicles on the A299 in Ramsgate at 1.37pm.

“Officers are at the scene near to the Lord of the Manor Roundabout along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

“The road is currently closed and a man has been taken to hospital via air ambulance.”
