Paramedics resuscitate man who crashed car in Margate

A man was resuscitated by paramedics after collapsing behind the wheel and crashing his car in Margate last night (February 4).

Police and ambulance crews were called to Ramsgate Road/College Road, Margate, at the Victoria lights junction, at 9.50pm.

Two ambulances and two paramedic cars attended the scene.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews responded to reports of a collision where a car had hit a lamppost.

“It appears a man had collapsed while at the wheel. The patient needed to be resuscitated before being taken to QEQM Hospital in a serious condition.”

A police spokesman added: “Kent Police was called at 9.50pm  to a report of a single vehicle collision in College Road, Margate, involving a BMW. The driver was taken to a local hospital by SECAmb.”
