Ramsgate man faces court accused of theft of war medals in Monkton burglary

A Ramsgate man has appeared in court charged with burglaries including one where war medals were stolen.

Jason Pitt, 45, of Conyngham Close, is charged with a burglary in which  items including a telescope, a pair of binoculars and war medals were stolen from a property in Monkton on Tuesday 17 July.

He is also charged with a burglary in which  jewellery and a mobile phone  were stolen from a property in Shottendane Road in Margate on Friday 13 July; the attempted burglary of a property in Grange Road, Ramsgate on Sunday 15 July and the assault of a police officer in Margate on Tuesday 17 July.

Mr Pitt appeared via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court today (July 19) and has been bailed to appear in court on a date to be confirmed.
