Ramsgate man arrested in connection with assault, aggravated burglary and possession of a knife

The man has been arrested on charges including aggravated burglary

A 21-year-old man from Ramsgate has been arrested in connection with assault, aggravated burglary and possession of a 12 inch knife.

Police have been investigating the serious assault of a 19-year-old man in Harbour Street, Ramsgate, during the early hours of Friday 13 July. The victim suffered arm injuries.

Officers are also investigating an aggravated burglary which took place on 12 June in Royal Road in Ramsgate. A man in his 50s, received minor injuries after intruders forced their way in and threatened him with the knife.

Last night (July 18) officers from the Thanet Community Policing Team  who were on patrol in Victoria Parade, Broadstairs, during the firework display, arrested the 21-year-old in connection with the assault and the made the further arrest in connection with the aggravated burglary.

A kitchen knife was also recovered by arresting officers.

The man  currently remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
