A big budget ‘Tollywood’ movie shot in locations including Margate will be released on the big screen tomorrow (September 10)..

Tollywood is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language
The £1m movie stars Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Anand Deverakonda.
Vaishnavi is an award-winning Telugu actress who has a huge 2.1 million followers on social media.
Anand worked in the USA before returning to India to pursue a full-time career in film. He also has an engineering degree.
The new film, described as a love story, launched with a puja ceremony on May 15, and began principal photography in June. The cast and crew came to the UK in August to shoot scenes in Margate and other Kent locations.
It is directed by Aditya Haasan, with music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, under Sithara Entertainments.
Filming took place at Dreamland, Margate seafront and the Kings Steps as well as in Canterbury, Maidstone, Margate, Tunbridge Wells’
The romance film following Rohan, a middle-class student studying abroad in England, as he explores romance, identity and coming of age.
Margate is a popular filming location and has recently featured in The Miner’s Son (2025), Restless (2025) and Things You Should Have Done (2024-2025).
Epic – First Semester (2026) will be released in selected UK cinemas tomorrow (Thursday 10th September).
