A Margate dad-of-one has taken on the Dare Skywalk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to raise funds for four charities.
Stephen Macabe, 37, is a member of the East Kent Spurs official supporters club which has raised some £50,000 over two years for local causes.
Co-chairs Ross White and Ray Berry accompanied Stephen on the challenge which involves scaling the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the exposed glass walk way some 46.8m above the pitch.
Stephen, who has overcome some medical conditions which would previously have prevented him from completing the skywalk, raised a brilliant £800 for charities East Kent Mind, STAK.life, Catching Lives and Age UK.
He said: “I decided to do the Dare Skywalk because I wanted to raise money for four amazing charities that are close to my heart and that are connected with East Kent Spurs supporters club which I joined in 2025.
“It was a pleasure and personal challenge because I wanted to support them and the small acts of kindness that go a long way.
“It felt good to be a part of it and raising that much money is a massive achievement for myself, helping others, and is something I’m very proud.
“I love being a part of the East Kent Spurs family, the experience was something like I’ve never experienced before. It was the best feeling in the world.
“I couldn’t wait to get up there and I was absolutely buzzing. It felt real when I was getting my harness on and the weather was perfect for it.
“This memory will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
Club co-chair Ross White added: “The club raises money for local charities with challenges that a lot of our members do.
“The most recent one with Stephen, myself and co-chair Ray Berry was the Dare walk where we went out over the roof to look into the stadium below.
“We have known Stephen for about two years and then he would not come out of his house as he was struggling with anxiety but then he did some events in the community and made lots of friends so has made considerable progress.
“Doing this challenge means he has given back to the community and he managed to raise £800 so he did something amazing.”
