Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School students are celebrating exceptional A Level results today (August 13) with an overall pass rate of just over 97%, of which 33% of grades were at A*/A and 59% at A*/B
Retiring Headteacher Debra Liddicoat said: “On the eve of my retirement, these are a very pleasing set of results for our students; the culmination of two years of hard work, determination, and dedicated revision.
“Our dedicated staff have gone above and beyond, contributing countless hours offering one to one support and revision classes, which is reflected in the impressive 100% pass rate in 21 subjects.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our students on their results and wish them every success in the future, whether they be going to university, starting apprenticeships, or entering the workforce. I am confident that the academic foundation and rich extra-curricular experiences at CCGS will serve them well.”

Hartdown Academy IB results
Hartsdown Academy Sixth Form students are celebrating another year of exceptional achievement in their vocational qualifications, marking the successful completion of the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP).
The IBCP is a world-class qualification, delivered by a select number of schools, including prestigious independent schools such as Kent College Canterbury and St Edmund’s School, Canterbury.
At Hartsdown Academy, the programme offers students a rigorous and personalised pathway, combining a Level 3 vocational qualification with two International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subjects and the IBCP Core. The Core develops students’ language proficiency, personal and professional skills, community engagement, and ethical understanding, preparing them for success beyond Sixth Form.
Today’s vocational results complete the final stage of the IBCP for the Class of 2026, following the publication of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results in July. Together, these results represent the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication, and resilience, with students achieving outstanding outcomes across the programme.

Some 54% of the cohort achieved the top grades of Distinction or above, with 16% of the cohort achieving a Distinction or above in the Extended Diploma. Combined with the IB Diploma results, 36% of our students achieved more than 112 UCAS points. All students who chose to progress to university have accepted offers, while others are pursuing ambitious careers, jobs and apprenticeships.
Particular successes include Sophie Jaffe, who achieved 188 UCAS points and is heading to Canterbury Christ Church University to study Adult Nursing;
Justine Sile, who achieved 184 points and will study Law and Politics at the University of Kent;
Molly Harris, who achieved 160 points and will study Criminology and Criminal Psychology at the University of Kent.
Tyler Jobe achieved an impressive 152 UCAS points
Harvey Kendall achieved 120 points and has secured a job working at a local school.

The Royal Harbour Academy
The Royal Harbour Academy is celebrating the outstanding success of its Sixth Form students following the release of this year’s BTEC Level 3 results, with 100% of students achieving at least a pass grade.
Students performed exceptionally well alongside the impressive results they have already received in the International Baccalaureate Careers Programme (IBCP).
The results mark a year of academic excellence, personal growth, and ambition as students prepare to take their next steps into higher education and professional careers.
The IBCP offers a combination of rigorous IB Diploma Programme subjects, Level 3 BTEC career-related studies, and a core programme designed to build global awareness, professional skills, and reflective thinking; all skills needed to succeed in this ever changing world.
Head of school, Kris Lasslett, praised the achievements, saying: “I am incredibly proud of our Sixth Form students for achieving an exceptional set of results this year, a true testament to their dedication, resilience, and ambition. The results show a significant increase in the results that our sixth form students achieve.
“These excellent results directly advance our RHA mission, further establishing our school as a vital hub for social mobility by ensuring our young people are equipped with the qualifications and confidence they need to access universities, competitive apprenticeships, and thriving careers.

The Class of 2026 has many shining stars. This year’s individual successes include:
Caden impressed with a Distinction*Distinction* Distinction in Health and Social Care, along with a grade 6 in IB Biology, a grade 5 in IB Psychology and grade B in his reflective project. Caden has already accepted his place at the University of Greenwich to study Paramedics. Caden said ”Throughout my time at RHA I have always been supported to be my best self. The teachers go above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive community.”
Ellie matched her ambition with a Distinction Distinction in her Health and Social Care diploma, and grade 5s in IB English and IB Psychology. Ellie will follow her passion for Criminology at Canterbury Christ Church University. Ellie said “So grateful for everything these years have given me. Including the memories, friendships, lessons and the person I have become because of RHA. Thank you!”
Chloe demonstrated outstanding achievement with a Distinction*Distinction in her Health and Social care diploma, alongside a grade 5 in IB English and a grade 6 in IB Psychology achieving the full IBCP certificate. Chloe has already received an unconditional offer to study Law with Legal Practice at University of Portsmouth to follow her dream of becoming a lawyer. Chloe said “Royal Harbour has helped me in so many ways, they have given me so much support and motivation throughout my two years here and my teachers, especially Ms Dougal and Ms Forge, really encouraged me to believe in myself!”
George achieved an impressive Distinction in Business Studies and a Distinction* in E-Sports, alongside a grade 5 in IB History and a grade 4 in IB Maths. Geroge will continue his passion for History, reading Military History at the University of Kent. George said “The teachers create an incredible supportive atmosphere to study, revise or even to speak with casually. The stress of the exams never felt like too much with such passionate and incredible people to push us”.
Jack’s hard work paid off and he achieved exceptionally well with a Distinction in Business Studies and a Distinction in E-Sports alongside a grade 5 in IB Maths and a grade 4 in IB Visual Arts. Jack said “Throughout my time at Sixth Form, I have achieved more than I ever thought I could. This is thanks to the incredible teachers that have pushed us to do so well”

King Ethelbert School IB and BTEC
King Ethelbert School is celebrating another year of excellent Year 13 results.
Headteacher Tom Sellen said “We are thrilled with the fantastic IB and BTEC results from our Y13 students. Once again we have seen how the IBCP programme supports our young people in really finding their passions and developing their wider skills alongside rigorous, academic studies. 93% of the cohort passed the course with 12% of grades being 5 and above.
“In terms of BTEC achievements, 30 students achieved top grades of D*D*D-DD, with 75% of the cohort tackling the extended diploma – a qualification the equivalent of 3 A-levels. Our students have achieved some superb results and they are off to a wide range of exciting and challenging next steps. They are a great bunch of young people who have shown immense character.”
The majority of students in the sixth form study the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme which is a rigorous level 3 qualification, where students study one Level 3 BTEC course and 2 IB Diploma Programme courses, graded on a 7-1 scale.
Many students achieve a BTEC National Diploma (equivalent to 2 A levels), however some certificate in the BTEC Extended Diploma (3 A level equivalent) and two standard level IB Diploma courses (equivalent to 0.5 A level each).
The students are also required to pass the IBCP core which comprises of; a personal and professional skills course, a 50-hour community focussed service learning project, the reflective project which is a 3000 word essay where the students explore an ethical dilemma and on top of this the students are immersed in an international culture as part of their compulsory language acquisition.
Rebecca Darch, IBCP Coordinator and Head of Sixth Form said: “We are incredibly proud of each of our students and how they have achieved the requirements to progress onto their chosen next steps. 27% of the cohort have chosen to accept their place at university, with the remainder choosing to continue with their employment or have planned to embrace travel as part of a gap year before applying for university or degree apprenticeships.”
Superb individual performances:
Raya Foord achieved a grade 5 in HL English, 5 in Maths, B in Reflective Project, combined with her D*D*D* in Applied Science, Raya has achieved 226 UCAS points. Raya is leaving to study Primary teaching at Canterbury Christchurch university.
Maddie Brown achieved a grade 5 in HL English, 4 in Psychology, A in Reflective Project, combined with her D*DD in Applied Science, Maddie has achieved 208 UCAS points. Maddie is leaving to study Forensic Science at the University of Kent.
Joshua Cornell achieved a grade 4 in Maths, 4 in Psychology and an A for Reflective Project, combined with his D*D*D in Health and Social Care, Josh has achieved 196 UCAS points.
Evie Burret has achieved a 3 in Psychology, 4 in Visual Arts, C in Reflective Project, combined with D*D*D* in Travel and Tourism, achieving 194 UCAS points.
Dane Court Grammar
Sixth Form students at Dane Court Grammar School are celebrating the confirmation of another excellent set of results and destinations.
IBCP students received their BTEC results today, whilst IB Diploma students have been in the advantageous position of knowing their results since July, giving them a head-start in securing top destinations.
Key highlights include:
- 79% of our IB Careers-Related Programme students achieved a Distinction and above in their vocational BTEC qualifications.
- 56% of the IBCP cohort have also been awarded an A or B grade in their Reflective Project – a core component that requires the study of an ethical dilemma in their vocational subject
- Our average point score on the IB Diploma is an impressive 35.2 points, which is equivalent to 192 UCAS points (A*A*A at A level)
- 92% of our applicants are moving on to their first choice of university
- 50% of our university applicants ( 36% of the overall cohort) are moving on to Russell Group universities
- 3 students were offered places to study at Oxford University, and 6 students have secured places for Medicine or Veterinary Medicine at leading institutions including Oxford, Edinburgh and Queen Mary University London, having excelled on our DC Medics Programme.
- Four IBCP students have secured prestigious sporting scholarships at American institutions
Once again, the IB Careers-Related Programme has proven to be an excellent springboard for prestigious university destinations. Students have also progressed on to top apprenticeships in fields such as finance, project management and engineering.
Individual successes
- Nathan Gardner achieved a double starred Distinction (D*/D*) in BTEC Sport and has won a place to study Cardiac Physiology at the University of Southampton
- Raha Hasson achieved D*/D in BTEC Business and will study Business Management at the University of Exeter
- Jack Trimmer and Kieran Buchanan both achieved a double starred Distinction (D*/D*) in BTEC Sport and will study Sport and Exercise at the University of Leeds and the University of Loughborough respectively
- Jack Swift also achieved D*/D* in BTEC Sport and will go onto a highly-prestigious golf scholarship at the University of Kansas
- Ivy Haggerty has also been awarded a prestigious US scholarship and will go on to Northern Arizona University to study Exercise Physiology after achieving D*/D in her Sport BTEC
- Mae Bedding achieved D*/D in BTEC Business and will study Zoology at Exeter
- Harshil Prajapati achieved D*/D in BTEC Business and has won a prestigious apprenticeship in accountancy at Blick Rothenberg
Sandwich Tech
Sandwich Tech says it is delighted with the academic progress made by its Level 3 students. In both A Level and Applied qualifications, students have exceeded expectations and performed extremely well.
One hundred percent of the cohort gained a place at the university they placed as their firm choice. This is the first time this has ever been achieved at STS. Many of the students have been offered places at Russell Group universities. The results were achieved across a range of highly academic A Levels subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, English, Maths, History, Geography and Sociology. Results in Creative subjects were of particular note, with students awarded grades that are significantly above the national average. This will be of no surprise to anyone who viewed students’ work at the recent CREATE 26 exhibitions.
Students’ results were hugely improved in Applied (Vocational) subjects with some exceptional results in Computing.
Individual students who have done particularly well include the following:
Ben Comerford, Head student was offered a place at Durham to study Computer Science. He achieved a grade B in Maths, Distinction* in Computing and Distinction in Business. Ben has since chosen to specialise in Computer Science at Royal Holloway College, University of London where he will focus on the study of Artificial Intelligence.
Jaimeleigh McPhee excelled in the Arts (achieving a B grade in each of Textiles, Art and Photography) and is taking a gap year before studying Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts.
Jemima Parker achieved a Distinction* in Health and Social Care, a B in Psychology and a C in History and will study Psychology at Kent University.
Amelia Betts made exceptional academic progress and achieved two Bs and a C in her A Levels and will be studying Level 4 Foundation Art and Design at EKC Canterbury.
Mia Gemmell was offered places at Exeter and Bristol to study Politics and has chosen to study Politics and International Relations (Including a year working overseas) at the University of Essex.
David Batchelor will study Pharmacology at Portsmouth University after achieving 3 A levels including a C in Chemistry.
Morgan Wysocka achieved three A Levels including B grades in both Sociology and Psychology and will study Psychology alongside Criminology with a year in Industry at Royal Holloway University.
Karina Sobolewska has been offered a place at Southampton University to study Criminology.
Joe Finch will study Film, TV and Digital Production at Royal Holloway University.
Amy Sharp will study Actuarial Science at the University of Kent ahead of a potential career in investment banking and risk management.
