Pie Factory Music, based in Ramsgate, is running a summer programme packed with feel-good activities for young people in Thanet, including new sessions, events and trips, as well as the youth club’s usual activities, starting from Friday 24 July.
Every session is free, so that as many 8–17-year-olds as possible can benefit. The trips do have a cost associated, but Pie says to talk to them if this might be a challenge right now.
Mondays
Chill & Hang Out, 4–6pm, 11–17 years, drop-in An extra summer youth club session to play games, hang out, chat with friends and chill.
The Live Room, 7pm–9pm, 13–17 years, drop-in football, games, pool, gaming, table tennis, arts and craft, cookery, instrument use, singing and music, plus the sound engineer is on hand in the music studio.
Tuesdays
Football, 3pm–5pm, 11–17 years, drop-in weekly football with Sports Connect. No experience necessary, beginners welcome. Practice to play against the youth workers in an end of summer tournament.
Band Room, 7pm–9pm, 11–17 years, drop-in Try out instruments and band-playing in the music room and write new songs with the music practitioners. Other activities include cookery, arts and crafts, games and sports.
Wednesdays
Art Factory, 29 July – 26 August, 5pm–8pm, 11–17 years, drop-in arts and crafts sessions with creative practitioners Katie and Kat.
Thursdays
Junior Youth Club, 5pm–7pm, 8–12 years, drop-in sport, games, pool, table tennis, arts and crafts, cookery and music, plus space to relax, socialise and meet new people.
Events
Bike Ride, Friday 24 July, 10am–midday, 11–17 years, free. Meet at Government Acre in Ramsgate for a relaxed ride with cycling pros Luis and Connor.
Nerf Battle, Friday 28 August, 2:30pm–4:30pm, 11–17 years, free Episode IV: A New Hope for Pie. Young people versus youth workers in a safe Nerf battle.
Trips
Spiderman (12A), Wednesday 29 July, 1pm, 11–17 years, £6pp Carlton Cinema Westgate. Transport available upon request.
Aqua Park, Friday 14 August, 2pm–3pm, 8–17 years, £22.50pp. White Mills, Sandwich Minimum height 1.2m. Must be able to swim 25m unaided. Transport available upon request.
Residential camping trip, Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th, Friday 21st August. Minster Scout Camp £50pp, 13–17 years. Two-night residential with activities including archery, axe throwing, rifle shooting and more.
