A road closure for emergency works has been put in place at Ramsgate Road in Broadstairs due to a water leak.
The road is now closed from near the Gladstone Road junction. It is expected to reopen over the weekend and then close again on Monday 16 March – Tuesday 17 March.
Stagecoach buses are diverting from Hereson Road via Montefiore Avenue, Dumpton Park Drive, West Cliffe Road and Granville Road.
A spokesperson from Kent County Council said: “Southern Water planned works were taking place to replace a stop tap, however during the excavation a leak was identified. To allow the team to address this, the permit was extended and the traffic management was upgraded from a partial carriageway incursion to a full road closure to safely accommodate the additional work.
‘The road is temporarily closed today and will reopen over the weekend, with another closure between Monday 16 March – Tuesday 17 March, to continue the works.”
