The British Minigolf Championships, organised by the British Minigolf Association (BMGA), will be held at Strokes Adventure Golf, Margate, on Saturday 21 – Sunday 22 March.
The 18-hole course, on Westbrook Promenade, has been hosting official BMGA tournaments for the best part of 20 years.
Features of the cleverly designed layout include water hazards, three-tier greens, ramps, tunnels and chutes, all strategically designed to test skill and nerve at the highest level.
There is also the notorious Hole 11 “Heartbreak Ridge” – one of the most feared “risk and reward” holes on the British minigolf circuit – where a score of 7 is just as likely as an ace (hole-in-one).
A field of more than 50 players is expected for the prestigious two-day event. They include:
- reigning British Minigolf Champion Seve Kukielka
- record 13-time British Women’s Champion Ruth Sturdy
- Five-time World Crazy Golf Champion Marc Chapman
- local pro and putting powerhouse Scott Lancley
The tournament will consist of seven rounds of stroke-play – four on Saturday and three on Sunday.
Trophies, medals and cash prizes will be awarded to the top players in all divisions, which include the Women’s, Junior and Novice categories.
In total some £700 is expected to be won in prize money with the awards ceremony taking place mid-afternoon on Sunday.

Spectators are welcome from 9am on Saturday and Sunday, with refreshments available from the kiosk.
