A man was taken to hospital yesterday (December 18) after being hit by a car in Margate.
Police were in Cecil Square at around 4pm, talking with a man following previous reports of antisocial behaviour.
Shortly afterwards, the man was involved in a collision with a car.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “He suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision, and the antisocial behaviour reported prior to it, are ongoing.”
A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesperson added: “SECAmb were called at approx. 4pm yesterday (18/12/25) to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
“A crew attended the scene and assessed and treated the pedestrian before taking them to a local hospital for further medical treatment.”
Which caused tailbacks of traffic up Hawley Street with vehicles left to turn back and find another route.
The Police and Council officers need to remove these antisocial cretins from sitting on the benches outside the library. They put us off visiting it with their dirty behaviours such as foul language, drinking alcohol in groups, being sick on the pavement, sleeping on the benches, begging for money from passers-by.
Dangerous enough trying to cross sober there, let alone drunk.
