Year 1 pupils at Callis Grange Nursery and Infant School in Broadstairs have been putting their creativity and imagination to the test after taking part in an exciting futuristic toy design competition run by Hornby.
As part of their learning about toys past, present and future, the children were challenged to design their own futuristic toy, thinking carefully about materials, features, and what would make their creation exciting for future generations. The competition sparked huge enthusiasm, with pupils producing a wide range of imaginative and innovative ideas.
Hornby staff were incredibly impressed by the standard of entries and selected an overall winner from the Year 1 designs. The winning pupil was awarded a special prize, generously donated by Hornby, in recognition of their creativity and thoughtful design.
The prize was presented during a special whole-school assembly, led by Headteacher Mrs Palmer-Simpson, making it a memorable and celebratory moment for the whole school community. T
he competition and assembly were organised and supported by Year 1 Senior Leader Miss Fox, who praised the children for their enthusiasm, imagination, and pride in their work.
