A child has been treated for injuries and taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Cliftonville today (November 14).
Police and paramedics were called to Northdown Road at 3.11pm.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Northdown Road at 3.11pm on Friday 14 November.
“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a child was treated for injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.
“The road was closed while emergency services were dealing with the incident and has now reopened.”
The child’s relatives have been informed.

Police speed checks and/or Speed Cameras need to be put on Northdown Road and St. Peters Road as pass Lister Road and The QEQM. Every day there are people driving at ridiculous speeds on both these roads. It’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed. Having contacted my MP and Kent County Council about this matter, and being ignored by both, I don’t hold out much hope.
THIS IS HAPPENING A LOT. I FULLY AGREE WITH MATTER OF TIME-LOCAL MP AND KENT COUNTY COUNCIL TO MAKE CHANGES OR DO SOMETHING NOW-I WONT HOLD MY BREATH.
We don’t know what happened here but I hope the child is recovering. I agree that speeding and reckless driving is a real problem all over Thanet. I walk my dog twice a day and always see stupidity in driving and parking. Cliftonville School is terrible for driving and parking problems in the afternoon. I never go near it in the morning so I can’t comment. There is no law enforcement at all . No parking wardens or Police. The streets and roads have been abandoned by the law in my opinion. Dangerous drivers rule the road.
