A new series of family-friendly events is coming to Quex Park from August 1-10.
Quex Fest kicks off with the free to enter Isle of Thanet Food & Drink Festival organised by Zoom Events from Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd August.
Visitors will be able to choose from a selection of local, national and international food and drink while dining alfresco in the park. Entertainment includes a real ale and cider bar, live music stage, land train rides, children’s workshops and an inflatable assault course.
As Quex Fest gathers pace, Zoom Events will host a stand-up comedy evening headlined by celebrity comedian, Clinton Baptiste, from the TV series Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights on Channel 4. The event takes place in a giant marquee with seating on Thursday 7th August from 8pm – 10pm, with the real ale and cider bar open to serve visitors from 7.30pm. The grand finale of Quex Fest will be a huge new production set up in Quex Park with The Motor Mule Music Festival organised by Long Tall Productions from 8th – 10th August. Billed as a country, blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll festival with plenty of heart and high-octane energy, The Motor Mule Festival will have 30 bands and musicians taking to three stages across the weekend, alongside a classic car and motorcycle show.
Visitors to The Motor Mule Festival will be treated to headline performances by blues legend, Ian Siegel and his band, international upcoming country star, Nathan Leazer from the US and Italian duo, The Cinelli Brothers. Other notable performers include country from The Smokin’ Mavericks, The Ashley Sherlock Band and Kent bands, Samuel Ashton and The Instincts and Rudy Warman and The Heavy Weather. Alongside the live music, sideshow entertainment will include a country disco with DJ Shamblin Sexton of Whiskey Preachin’ Records on the Saturday evening and line dancing lessons on Sunday.
Accompanying the live music stages, classic cars and motorcycles will be a host of other family entertainment. This includes circus skills, children’s rides, craft workshops and festival fashion stalls. A selection of thoughtfully chosen street food and bars will ensure that no one goes hungry or thirsty.
