A man has been charged with attempted murder after a man in his 40s was found at a property in Cliftonville with serious head injuries on Sunday (March 9).
Kent Police was made aware that the man had been found with the injuries at a property in Ethelbert Crescent. He was taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Following enquiries at the scene, four men from Margate were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Archie Rixon has since been charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident.
The 21 year old, of Ethelbert Crescent, is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (March 14).
Three other men, aged between 21 and 47, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

what a charming place thanet has become , people used to go on holiday to cliftonville , now its a no go area , i wonder why ?
British people, when they holiday in Britain,don’t stay in hotels and bed-and-breakfast establishments nearly as much as they did in the 50s and 60s. That’s one reason why. Cliftonville is quite a large area, and is clearly not a no-go area.
Has been in recent times with the tent encampments/street defecation/aggressive begging/threats etc.
Another angry young man going to be locked away for violence. There is a huge rise in violence within Britain as a whole and it needs dealing with from the top of government down, but they are more interested in wars and filling this country to the brim with unvetted guests while the working class suffers unable to pay extortionate prices and bills. You can see why more people are getting angry out there!!
Agreed – this is a serious problem that sadly, as you say, is basically ignored by the powers that be, to the detriment of all.
