Royal Harbour Academy Sixth Form students have spent five days at education activities centre Kingswood in Ashford for the Skills4Life programme, created by the National Citizen Service (NCS).
The youngsters embraced new challenges and developed invaluable life skills. The programme focused on developing creativity, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking—qualities essential as students consider their future educational and career paths.
Activities were both exhilarating and purposeful, encouraging students to step outside their comfort zones. They worked collaboratively, built resilience, and embodied the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, such as being principled, caring and good communicators.
A school spokesperson said: “We are incredibly proud of every student who took part, facing each day with courage and commitment and we would like to thank NCS for their support in making this opportunity a memorable one for our students.”
Owen, from Year 13, said: “It helped me get out my comfort zone, by improving my communication and confidence with my friends.”
