Fire crews were at the scene of a field blaze in Ramsgate today (September 7) after being alerted at 2.49pm.
Four fire engines were sent to Newlands Lane and people were advised to keep their windows and doors closed, and avoid the area.
Crews used hose reel jets and beaters to contain and extinguish the fire.
Firefighting operations finished at a cornfield fire by 4.15pm.
There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
Earlier advice to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area due to the smoke, has now been lifted.
Again!!!
My exact thoughts
whoever starts these fires should be charged with arson , regardless of age or any other excuses
How do you charge a non sentient object in the form of a downed cable, realworld?
