Man charged over robbery at Dumpton Post Office

A suspect has been charged following a reported robbery at Dumpton Post Office in Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, on Saturday (August 3).

Kent Police was called at 6.42am  to a report that two men had entered the premises and made threats to staff.

It was alleged that money was taken from the till and the men then left the area.

Officers attended and, shortly afterwards, arrested two men in connection with the incident.

On Sunday (4 August), Harry Marshall, of Hay Hill, Deal was charged with robbery, possession of a knife and possession of an offensive weapon.

Mr Marshall, 21, was remanded in custody to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court today (August 5).

A 19-year-old man was bailed pending further enquiries.
