Coastguard and RNLI teams worked together to rescue a woman who got into difficulties in the sea at Margate this evening (September 7).
RNLI lifeguards and the Ramsgate Inshore crew assisted Margate Coastguard Rescue Team and were aided by the Coastguard helicopter in the rescue after being called in at around 6pm.
The woman was rescued from the water and treated by South East Coast Ambulance service paramedics for cold and shock.
A Coastguard spokesperson said: “A person was in difficulty in the water. RNLI lifeguards went into the sea to support along with Margate Coastguard Rescue Team and Coastguard Helicopter R163.
“RNLI Ramsgate Inshore Lifeboat came round to assist and were able to get the person out of the water and, along with Coastguard Rescue Officers, managed to get them into the ambulance where they were treated for cold and shock.”
