The new single by Margate-based The Libertines – Run, Run, Run, is out today (October 13) with news that the band’s latest album All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade will be released on March 8.

In War Horse he starred as Sargent Sam Perkins of the British Army, and one of his most notable roles was in the film Green Street, where he played a main role as Tommy Hatcher.

Filming took place in Cliftonville, Margate and Libertines hotel and bar The Albion Rooms.

The album was created at The Libertines studio in The Albion Rooms. Last week co-frontman Carl Barat told The Isle f Thanet News: “The album was recorded at the Albion Rooms and we (have been) shooting the videos in the town. It’s very exciting.”

To celebrate the upcoming album release there will be an All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade Weekender – two days of special acoustic and electric live shows by The Libertines, at the 500 capacity Lido on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December.

Carl and bandmates Pete Doherty, John Hassall and Gary Powell have been a part of the isle community since they bought the former Palm Court Hotel in 2017 for £458,000.

They renamed it The Albion Rooms  and set about a three year transformation creating a studio, hotel rooms, The Waste Land bar and restaurant at the five storey Victorian building.
