Coastguard teams, police and ambulance called to Minnis Bay in missing person search

Margate Coastguard, police and ambulance crews were called to Minnis Bay today (October 14) to a report of a missing person.

Search teams from Margate, Herne Bay and Deal all attended, co-ordinated by the Margate crew.  After information from a member of the public the person was located,

A HM Coastguard spokesperson said: “HM Coastguard was contacted by Kent Police just after 3:15pm requesting assistance in the search for a missing person near Minnis Bay.

“Margate, Herne Bay and Deal Coastguard rescue teams and Kent Police were all sent. The person was found by the coastguard and passed into the care of the police.”

The person was passed into the care of police officers. No medical assistance was required.
