Open meeting invite for Thanet charities and volunteer groups

The meeting will be held at Edessa restaurant

Volunteer organisations and charities working in Thanet are invited to an open meeting this month to look at how services can be coordinated.

County councillors Barry Lewis and Karen Constantine have organised the gathering which wil take place at Edessa in Margate’s Cecil Square on October 23.

Speakers will include county council funds allocator Jack Packman,Thanet council community officer Adam Littlefield, Sharon Goodyer from Our Kitchen on the Isle of Thanet and Kathy Bailes from The Isle of Thanet News.

There will also be ‘speed dating’ for representatives to meet people from other groups.

Cllr Lewis said: “Volunteer groups and charities working in Thanet are welcome to attend. The purpose is to co-ordinate work so that services can run even more efficiently.”

The meeting starts at 2pm.

    • I think Cllr Lewis is referring to organisations that help.through the charity sector. He isn’t talking about TDC. It’s about charities co-ordinating their activities.
