Police appeal for witnesses after stranger shouts abuse at family and then assaults man in Margate

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a stranger began hurling abuse at a man and his family in Margate and then hit the man in the arm and chest.

Kent Police was called at 7.37pm on Sunday (August 4) following the inident.

The man had approached the victim and his family in Thanet Road and began to shout and swear at them.  The victim reports that the man was pointing his finger in his face so he put his arms up and as he did, the man struck him in the arm and chest.  The victim was not injured.

Officers attended the scene and carried out an area search but no suspect was found.

The man is described as white, aged between 30 and 40-years-old, of slim build with short dark hair.  He had tattoos on his arms, and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and white trainers.
