Police review CCTV after woman has bag snatched in Margate

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 20s had her bag snatched in Westbrook.

A purse, keys and medication were inside the bag.

The victim was walking along Westbrook Avenue shortly after midnight today (June 24) when the incident took place. She described a white man of slim build, more than 5ft 5ins tall and wearing dark-coloured clothing walking behind her when she stopped to let him go past.

It was at this point he is reported to have grabbed her and demanded money. The suspect then pulled the bag off her shoulder and ran away in the direction of Canterbury Road. The victim did not report any serious injuries.
