Ramsgate duo arrested after ‘disturbance’ at car parts site where employee ‘was dragged by reversing car’

The struggle was caught on CCTV

A couple from Ramsgate have been arrested after a ‘disturbance’ at a car parts business in Sandwich where staff say they were threatened and one says she was dragged by a car after being grabbed by the driver.

Employee Leah Moon says she was confronted in the office and that she and other staff were told to hand over goods and money.  The pair are known to Ms Moon.

The 26-year-old, from Ramsgate, said: “He was in the car when he grabbed me by the T Shirt and hair and then started the vehicle. He went in reverse and pulled me along, I could not get away. There was a baby in the back of the car, which is just disgusting.”

The struggle was caught on CCTV at the  Kent Commercial Parts premises on Sandwich Industrial Estate.

A counter complaint has been made by the couple involved who claim it was a dispute over a damaged vehicle.

Kent Police confirmed officers are investigating the incident.

A spokesman said: “Kent Police is investigating a reported disturbance involving people known to one another at a business on the Sandwich Industrial Estate, shortly after 12pm on Tuesday, May 28.

“A 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both from Ramsgate, were arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail until the end of June.

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.”
