Police appeal for witnesses of Margate assault to come forward

Police are urging people who witnessed an assault in Margate earlier this month to come forward,

It was reported that at around 11pm on Friday, May 17  shortly after leaving a takeaway in Ramsgate Road, a man in his 60s was assaulted by another man.

He suffered injuries to his head and ribs and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a white man aged in his mid 20s. He was reported as being 5ft 10ins tall, with very short dark hair, a clean shaven face and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a light grey tracksuit top and bottoms.

Officers investigating the assault would like to hear from anyone who was in Ramsgate Road near to the traffic light junction with College Road between 10.30pm and 11.15pm and saw anything suspicious.

People who were driving in the area and captured dashcam footage via their vehicles are also asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/95869/19.
