Bands FC exhibition heads to Cliftonville

Chas n Dave and Pete Doherty feature in the cards

It has gone viral on twitter and now it’s coming to Cliftonville – the Bands FC ‘card’ collection.

A cross between football cards (remember those?) mashed up with the logos of top bands to bring music and the beautiful game together.

The cards are the creation of Mark Liptrott of Concrete Studio and Nick Fraser, who sells merchandise for the Charlatans, and spring from an idea by the Charlatan’s Tim Burgess.

The football badges are teamed with the music logos to create an array of card art which includes AC/DC blending up with Arsenal, Echo and the Bunnymen mashing up with Liverpool FC and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers teaming up with Bayern Munich.

Bands FC is going on display at Cliffs café and record store in Northdown Road from June 7-17.

Entry is free.
