Man arrested – and released – over incident where car smashed into vehicles in a Ramsgate road

A man has been arrested -and released – following an incident in Ramsgate where several parked cars were smashed into by a vehicle.

Kent Police was called at 12.01am yesterday (March 24) to reports a car had collided with a number of parked vehicles in Lorne Road. The driver then left the scene.

Witnesses say the car, with two men inside, was a silver Ford Focus. It has also been reported that one of the men attempted to pull open the door of another driver’s vehicle.

At least one vehicle has been written off.

At around 6.10am a 23-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and aggravated vehicle taking.

He was later released pending further investigation.
