Community street scheme GRASS is planning to hold a summer season of outdoor movies at the Oval in Cliftonville.
The group intends to host three screenings and, subject to a successful fundraising campaign, these will be free ticketed events for the community.
GRASS (Gordon Road Area Street Scheme) has shared a wish list of films on its facebook page, including Dirty Dancing, Grease and Beetlejuice, and will be announcing the confirmed movie line up for the June event in the coming weeks.
It has now launched a fundraiser page to help with the costs.
GRASS secretary Stephen Darrer said: “We want to bring the whole community together, eat popcorn and enjoy the atmosphere of an outdoor cinematic experience.
“With this fundraising campaign we are hoping to raise £2,000 to help with the cost of hosting this event.
“If anyone can help us by donating this will enable us to try and keep this event free for our community.”
The ticket release will be announced soon.
