Thanet band Collateral to release Summer album and national tour dates

Thanet band Collateral are gearing up for a Summer album release and then a national tour, The Isle of Thanet News can reveal.

Since they released their debut EP, 4 Shots, just before last Christmas, there’s been a severe, upward surge in the popularity stakes of the ‘Prince of Rock,’ Angelo Tristan and his three horsemen – Todd Winger (guitar), Jack Bentley Smith (bass) and Ben Atkinson (drums).

Angelo said: “With the upcoming gig at The Black Heart in London, on 7 February long since sold out, this year has started off just immense.

“It’s absolutely crazy. After releasing Midnight Queen (last year) it’s been taken on as an anthem, but we didn’t expect all the hype that has followed.

“The reaction was like a big bang. Expectations have certainly risen well above what we had thought, and it was the same with 4 Shots as well, we just hope that the upcoming album release matches all of this.”

Immediately after releasing their EP, Collateral created another stir when they become the first act to Facebook Live from the 10k+ strong, ‘New Wave of Classic Rock – NWOCR’ Facebook group, New Years’ Day night.

Angelo said: “The EP afforded the magic of simplicity with no major notes or fast guitars to it.  It set us up nicely for this year as it’s a really good time to be in the industry.

“To be asked as well to be the first act to Facebook Live from the NWOCR group was an honour and privilege.

“We had a lot to set up beforehand and doing things like that, we want to make sure that we do it properly.”
