Man arrested in Ramsgate on suspicion of offensive weapon and assault offences

A man is in custody following a disturbance in Ramsgate last night (July 2).

Kent Police officers were called to St Luke’s Road at around 11pm. There were no reported injuries but a 20-year-old man from Margate was found nearby and a knife was seized.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and also on suspicion of an assault which took place last month.

The assault is reported to have happened in Broad Street on June 24. A teenage boy was injured.

Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the disturbance in St Luke’s Road. Anyone who saw anything or who has information that could assist officers and hasn’t yet spoken to police is asked to call 01843 222289 quoting reference 02-1649.
