A Ramsgate street has been taped off by police following a serious assault

An area in Ramsgate has been taped off and a man airlifted to a London hospital following a serious assault this afternoon (June 30).

Emergency services were called to  Sussex Street at 4.36pm. The road and Loughborough Court car park have both been taped off.

The air ambulance landed at Chatham House school. There are also two land ambulance crews at the scene.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Police were called to Sussex Street,  at 4.36pm  following a report of a serious assault.

“A man has been air lifted to a London hospital for treatment to multiple injuries. The area has been cordoned off to allow officers to investigate.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
